Spectacular bright red berries coat bare stems November through February. Highest wildlife value of any deciduous shrub in the region for overwintering thrushes. Requires a male pollinator plant (1 male per 5–6 females). Tolerates wet, acidic soils. Very high landscape contractor demand.
