Extremely adaptable native shrub for almost any site condition — wet to dry, sun to part shade. Exfoliating cinnamon-colored bark provides winter interest. White flowers in June. Deer resistant. One of the best NRCS streambank and buffer species due to its tolerance of disturbed soils and variable drainage.
